MEAN WELL has been honored with the 2024 "National Sustainable Development Awards" by the National Sustainability Council of the Executive Yuan

The "National Sustainable Development Awards" from the Executive Yuan is one of Taiwan's key sustainability awards. The organizers evaluate participants based on four categories: education, enterprises, civil organizations, and government agencies. As a leader in the standard power supply industry, MEAN WELL has a long-term dedication to ESG (Environmental / Social / Governance) transformation. To be honored with the 2024 "National Sustainable Development Awards, "it stood out and was among the 46 award-winning entities (not ranked), becoming an essential milestone towards sustainability! 
 

The 20th NSD Awards ceremony  took place on December 19. Premier of the Executive Yuan of Taiwan, Cho Jung-Tai(left) personally presented the awards, with CSO of the SDG Group, Patrick Wang (right)  represented the recipients.

In 2021, the SDG Group integrated the United Nations sustainable development goals into the company's business blueprint for sustainable development. This includes business operations, environmental protection, employee relations, and social care. The SDG Group will keep pacing with the times and continuously innovate and improve ourselves. Through implementing globalization, localization, lean management, and computerized operational strategies, we can improve the processes and management procedures of the enterprise and promote the concept of the "SDG Industry Value Network" by using information technology as an accelerator.

  • No.13 Climate Action We regularly organized the" I Love Tamsui River" public welfare activity, and established a water environment patrol team, collaborating with industry, government, and academia to take a series of actions to protect the river and build a carbon footprint platform to independently declare the carbon footprint of products, organizing greenhouse gas inventory training courses with partners, and putting corporate social responsibility into practice.
  • No.17 Partnerships for the Goals With the mission of "Reliable partners for sustainable development," the SDG Group aims to create 100+ ESG companies. It expects to create a blueprint with the vision of an "SDG industry value network." Establishing SDG SHARE+ APP and integrating all of our SDG partners. Through the SDG member points mechanism, we enhance the operational efficiency of our business partners and create a positive cycle.

The SDG Group will continue to embrace challenges and promote the achievement of sustainable development goals! We aim to reduce carbon emissions by 5% annually, achieve a 50% reduction by 2030, and reach carbon neutrality by 2050. We are planning to establish MWPRO (MEAN WELL's Supplier Material Carbon Footprint) to achieve the group's carbon neutrality objectives with our partners. Continuously promoting sustainable actions for the Tamsui River, we will cooperate with industry, government, and academia to monitor the water quality and biodiversity of Tamsui River and use practical actions to protect the common good of the river basin. In addition, we will hold the SDG Sustainability Exhibition from 2024 to 2026, promoting sustainable development issues through art exhibitions in Taiwan, the Vatican, and worldwide. This initiative aims to encourage more sustainable actions and create a better environment for the next generation!
